In the year 1966, Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries. During that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was utilized to lower and raise the hoist. This device greatly impressed lots of customers and hence, the name was established.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, as the need for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, when the requirements for new machinery to meet many applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for example, Genie went into production with light towers, man-lifts, articulated booms, telehandlers and stick booms.
Because of the economic recession during the beginning of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values. They partnered up together with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring equipment manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
In the early years after the sale, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, because of the name's solid reputation within the marketplace. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be marketed under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their customers. Genie has always been continually dedicated to improving the quality and efficiency in addition to minimizing wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering exceptional support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machines.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC equipment are emission-free, quiet machines capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the machine must be driven significant distances, like in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator along with the advantages of a 48V DC machinery.
Compared to any of the various kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach overall. These machines are ideal for limited access places in construction and other industrial settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to provide utmost productivity. These equipment deliver the drive speed and supreme traction you require to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
