Among the biggest reasons is to prevent possibility of lawsuits if someone is hurt. Secondly, accidents cut down on working time. Thirdly, property and goods can be damaged during accidents. Nearly all mishaps are attributed to staff who are not correctly trained. Employers are responsible for making sure that employees who are using the forklift are correctly trained in safety and risks. Never let anyone on a forklift who isn't properly trained to use the forklift. Your business must develop and post in a location which is visible all forklift safety procedures.
Staff should have a positive attitude when they go through training, rather than doing it just because they are required to. You as the employer should help employees know the significance of proper training. Let them understand that they can injure or kill not just themselves, but other individuals, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to make sure that all your staff undertake training seriously.
