CareLift Equipment has been engineering and making excellent rough terrain forklifts since 1962. Every day the company strives to deliver value and help all their customers reach their objectives since they know the bottom line is dependability and performance.
Boom lifts are available in 2 general types, the articulated boom lift and straight boom lift. Both these units are often powered hydraulically. Most commonly straight booms are the great option for jobs that need a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the machinery can rotate 360 degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom can be raised vertically to below horizontal. Because the operator could maneuver and steer the vehicle while the boom is completely extended, it is a versatile equipment. These units come in propane, gas or diesel configurations as well as 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive.
The articulated boom lifts are utilized for tasks which need to reach up and over obstacles so as to gain access. These specialized lifts are utilized for jobs which are not easily completed by straight telescopic booms. These lifts are practically like the straight boom lift in most aspects except in the ability of the boom to articulate. There are different articulation points on the boom in order to allow it to bend in a variety of different directions allowing it to move around any objects easily within the work environment.
Several heavy-duty boom lifts come equipped with outriggers in order to maintain stability whilst the boom lift is completely extended. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra confidence and safety. Correct training is necessary prior to operating boom lifts so as to ensure the jobsite, the operator and everybody working in the vicinity stays safe.
The boom lift allows for tasks requiring lots of man hours to be done in much less time. These machines have greatly increased productivity and have changed the material handling industry.
