Types of Aisles
Lift trucks are classified due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to work in. Narrow Aisle and Wide Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn in the aisle. There are some aisle widths to take into consideration with different models.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks work in less than 6 feet areas and normally use particular guidance systems like optical, rail or wire systems in order to travel in the aisles. Several different models of VNA trucks comprise Swing Masts, Order Selectors and Turret Trucks. These are popular kinds in tight retail areas and in some warehouse and storage situations.
NA or Narrow Aisle trucks are able to operate within aisles that are 8 feet to 10 feet. Normally these are stand-up models like for instance Reach Trucks. They are usually used in warehouses and storage facilities.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work within aisles that are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard that is made to reduce operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the driver is spacious and has an 8" low step height that helps lessen overall body exhaustion by easing frequent entry and exit. The unit includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb vibration and shocks caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest together with a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and thus more effective while limiting exhaustion.
